Matt, Katie, and EJ continue their investigation of the Allagash Abductions, the story of four campers' alleged encounter with extraterrestrials in the Maine wilderness. A decade after the event, abductee Jim Weiner begins experiencing strange sleep disturbances. Assuming these are repressed memories of his encounter, he dives headfirst into the world of UFOs and alien abductions. Jim's research uncovers the case of Betty and Barney Hill, a pair of alleged abductees from the 1960s, and Betty Andreasson, who claimed she was acting as missionary for aliens. Convinced that he's the victim of a similar encounter, Jim Weiner seeks out the investigator spearheading the Andreasson Affair: MUFON correspondent Raymond Fowler. Unbeknownst to Jim, Fowler's flawed methods implanted false memories in his subjects, building an entire cannon of alien abduction experiences that never happened. And now, the Allagash Four are about to become the subject of his next erroneous experiment.

Episode 84: The Allagash Abductions Part 1 - Type 2 Fun
Tuesday Mar 03, 2026
Tuesday Mar 03, 2026
In 1976, four men on a camping trip in the remote Allagash Wilderness Waterway experienced an otherworldly encounter. Allegedly, they were abducted by aliens who performed a series of experiments on them, before returning them to their campsite with no memory of the events. But when all four were independently studied, they all told the same story: one of shimmering lights in the sky, hypnotism, paralysis and horrifying surgical procedures by alien beings.
Investigated by renowned ufologist Raymond Fowler, the Allagash Abductions has been called "undeniable proof"that extraterrestrials are real, and are kidnapping people for horrifying experimentation. This is the story of their alleged experiences and of confirmation bias in the golden era of modern ufology. It’s a fascinating look into how mythology is built, and how dangerous it is to start looking for answers when you’ve already got them in mind.

Episode 83: Sewer Cryptids Part 3 - Cow Tunnels and Trash Gators
Tuesday Feb 17, 2026
Tuesday Feb 17, 2026
Matt, Katie and EJ conclude their investigation into the legends of Sewer Cryptids. Focusing on New York City, we examine the legendary cow tunnels that may have been used to move livestock underground in the 19th century. Then, we take a bite out of the most infamous sewer cryptid of them all: the sewer gator. Were New York residents actually flushing baby alligators into the sewers, where they grew to monstrous proportions? And are there any real reports of underground reptiles around the world? The dark tunnels and passageways beneath our feet will forever be a source of mythology and legend, one where monsters lurk in both reality and fantasy.

Episode 82: Sewer Cryptids Part 2 - A Load of Tosh
Tuesday Feb 03, 2026
Tuesday Feb 03, 2026
Matt, Katie and EJ continue their investigation into the legends of Sewer Cryptids. During the mid-19th century, journalist Henry Mayhew chronicled the lives, work, and philosophies of London's lower class. He became particularly fascinated with the toshers, men who crept through the sewers looking for lost valuables. Their experiences, toiling away in the dingy tunnels, gave rise to fantastic tales. According to the toshers, a race of feral hogs roamed the underground, viscously attacking anyone they found. Even more unbelievable was the story of the Queen Rat, who could curse or bless a tosher, depending on her mood. Collectively, these legends paint a tapestry of folklore born from the darkness of an underworld just beneath London's feet.

Matt
he/him
I work in film and tv, both behind the camera and in the editing room. I’ve been a member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians for over 20 years. Since childhood, I’ve been obsessed with cryptids, the paranormal and conspiracy theories. I believe that everything deserves to be explored, and nothing exists in a vacuum. Every belief we hold, every experience we have and every story we tell is influenced by our background, our situation and the world around us.
Favorite horror movies:
Hereditary, Burnt Offerings, His House, Creature from the Black Lagoon, anything Godzilla, The Ritual, Lake Mungo, Underwater, Amityville Horror (1979), Alien, Trollhunter
Favorite horror books/stories:
The Shining, Pickman’s Model, The Yellow Wallpaper, Was it a Dream?, A Headful of Ghosts, the Night Watch series, Crouch End, Something is Killing the Children
If I was a cryptid I’d be:
Either a cadborosaurus, so I’d be able to swim around the ocean, or Mokele-Mbembe because dinosaurs are awesome
Non-paranormal pursuits:
Woodworking, flyfishing, giving treats to cats

EJ
they/she
As an introvert that thrives on deep, meaningful conversation, I guess I’m a walking paradox. I grew up in a creaky old farmhouse in Upstate New York where I played with frogs and made all the adults call me Macgyver. When I was a kid, I saw something that looked like a sasquatch run through the swamp behind my house. I’m fascinated by what we think we see and what beliefs we hang on to, even as more information comes to us. Let’s get into it.
Their horror novel, ANA MUST DIE (AGAIN) is forthcoming from Evil Twin, spring 2027.
Favorite horror movies/TV shows:
Parasite, Paranormal Activity, One Cut of the Dead, Hush, Creep, Midnight Mass, Train to Busan, Nope, Midsommar
Favorite horror books/stories:
The Terror, House of Leaves
If I was a cryptid, I’d be:
Bigfoot because you’re always warm, you’re an apex predator, and you live alone in the woods away from people. What more could you ask for??
Non-paranormal pursuits:
Martial arts, knitting/crochet, exploring nature, writing

Katie
she/her
As a kid, I was terrified by the paranormal, but also fascinated with it. I read a book on poltergeists in elementary school and kept a keen watch on myself as an early tween, just in case it might happen to me. Ghosts aren’t real but I really hope one day I experience something I can’t explain. I’m always curious about what we think we understand, what we don’t, and what stories we tell ourselves about it all.
Favorite horror movies:
Lol no. I hate being scared and as a result, I have seen very few horror films and almost always refuse to watch them. Casper has a ghost in it, right? Just kidding. I do love The Shining - red rum!
Favorite horror books/stories:
Again, I have read very few. But the two I’ve read, remember, and loved are classics: The Tell Tale Heart and The Call of Cthulhu.
If I was a cryptid I’d be:
Probably a Yeti, because I love the snow.
Non-paranormal pursuits:
Reading non-fiction and hanging out with friends.

Quixote and Zuri
Hello, we are Quixote and Zuri. Call us Yotes and Zur. We like when humans podcast and also cryptids.
Favorite horror movies/TV shows:
Midnight Club, Barbarian
Favorite horror books/stories:
Sorry can't read
If was cryptid, we be:
Probably the Beast of Exmoor cause kitty
Non-paranormal pursuits:
Watching birds, chasing paper balls, sitting in laps
