In 1962, a man named Clairvius Narcisse died in a Haitian hospital from kidney failure. That alone wouldn’t be remarkable, except that twenty years later, that same man reappeared, alive and well. He claimed that he’d been resurrected from the dead, and forced to work for years on a sugar plantation. He toiled alongside several other enslaved zombies until a successful uprising, where they killed their overlord sorcerer and freed themselves. Narcisse’s incredible story is one of dark magic, arcane rituals and underbelly of organized crime in Haiti.

As an introvert that thrives on deep, meaningful conversation, I guess I’m a walking paradox.
